Outline of Research at the Start

高分子液体は分子運動が極めて遅いため,通常の分子シミュレーションで扱うことが困難な系である.本研究はこの問題を解くために新しい分子モデルを提案し,多様な系での高速計算を実現できるシミュレーション手法を開発する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究「からみあい高分子系の汎用高速計算法」は多様なからみあい高分子系の動力学を高効率に予測解析するための手法開発を目的とする. 高分子材料の高機能/高性能化と有効利用には,成形加工下の流動変形と熱運動による分子形態変化で生じる非平衡状態の予測が必要である. 既存の手法は,分子動力学法のように分子間相互作用の計算でコストが高く対応不可あるいは逆に管モデルのように粗視化モデリングで計算コ ストは低いが分子間相互作用が導入不可で,いずれも計算可能な問題が極めて限定されている.本研究では,申請者らが独自に開発した多体スリップスプリング(MCSS)モデルに基づく,新規の計算法を開発している..一次構造が異なる分子間の相互作用とからみあい効果を考慮しつつも計算効率が高い手法を目指している.

本年度は特に計算効率の点で重要な,スリップスプリングの縮退の効果を調べた.すなわちスリップスプリングを高分子セグメント上で共存させることの効果を系統的に調べた.その結果,共存を許さない場合は数値計算上は安定するものの,高分子の運動が実験とは異なるものになることが判明した.この結果を受けてDPD法との組み合わせに方向転換している.また高速流動下でのセグメント摩擦の変化に関して,揺動散逸定理との関係も調べた.この他,手法の応用として二様分布をもつ高分子メルトの剪断応力成長に関する研究,狭い並行平面間に閉じ込められた高分子の異方的緩和に関する研究,ネットワーク高分子の生成と破壊に関する研究,などを実施して手法の有用性をしめした.

Reason

手法の基礎的な学理と計算効率の検討は順調に実施できている.課題の最終目標としているブレンド,共重合,コンポジットについても,理論上の検討とプログラム上の実装は進んでいる.ただしこれらの系について計算結果を検証するための参照系の設定が当初の想定より困難であり,難航している.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ここまで順調に実施できているモデルの基礎的な性質の探索と検討は継続する.コンポジット系については微粒子を含む系について計算結果をまとめていく.共重合とブレンドについてはプログラムへの実装は終了させ,ひとまず定性的であっても従来知見を再現できることを示す.
