Outline of Research at the Start

暗黒物質となる素粒子の一種で、アクシオン似粒子と呼ばれる二つのガンマ線に崩壊するものを電子・陽電子衝突実験において探索する性能を向上するため、エネルギー測定を行う無機結晶シンチレーション検出器とガンマ線から検出器中で生じる電子・陽電子の通過位置を検出する半導体ピクセル検出器を組み合わせたユニットを、複数層にわたって重ねたプリシャワー検出器なる装置の開発を行う。無機結晶シンチレーション検出器はFast-LGSO結晶が発するシンチレーション光をアバランシュフォトダイオードで読み出すもの、半導体ピクセル検出器はモノリシックCMOS技術を用いたものを性能評価する。
