Outline of Research at the Start

太陽系の外にある第2の地球候補の表層環境や、初期宇宙の初代星へのガス降着による円盤構造を直接空間分解して調べるには、宇宙空間に超大型の光学宇宙望遠鏡を打ち上げる必要がある。そして、このような超大型光学宇宙望遠鏡は、回折光学素子を持つ超々小型衛星を電磁石で相対位置を保ちながら大群で編隊飛行させることで実現できる可能性がある。そこで本研究では、回折光学系のスケールモデルを製作し、地上実験と光学シミュレーションを比較することで、概念の原理検証を行う。
