Outline of Research at the Start

海氷-海洋乱流境界層理論に基づいた高精度で高コストパフォーマンスな新型の自動海氷観測システム（Cryosphere Turbulent Closure Buoy：CryoTeCブイ）を開発し、地球規模での展開を目指す。海氷変動の熱力学過程に関連する物理変数を一台の装置で効率よく取得できるシステムの開発とその観測ネットワークの構築までを行う。CryoTeCは、海洋-海氷境界面での乱流フラックスによる熱・塩輸送とその収支についての連立方程式を数値的に解くことで海氷の熱的成長・融解についての定量的な見積もりを可能とする。
