Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の概要は主に以下の2つである。1)ヒマラヤ造山帯を対象にして、大陸衝突帯地殻深部における部分溶融の役割とその上昇メカニズムを、岩石学的・構造地質学的・地質年代学的研究から解明する。2)北西インドに分布するオフィオライト層群の生成場やその火成年代、および変成作用の成因を推定して、大陸衝突前の沈み込み造構プロセスを復元する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

新生代最大の造山帯、ヒマラヤ大陸衝突帯西縁の北西インドラダック地域には、沈み込みで
形成して大陸衝突によって上昇・露出した超高圧変成岩体とインダス-ツァンポ縫合帯オフィオライト層群が分布する。本研究の目的は、これらの地質帯を対象にして、ヒマラヤ造山帯におけるインドプレート沈み込みから大陸衝突初期までの造構プロセスを、物質科学的手法に基づいて具体的に解明することである。そこで本年度では、大陸衝突帯の地殻深部物質における上昇メカニズムの解明のために、1)(超)高圧変成岩類の角閃石のアルゴン-アルゴン年代測定を実施して、始新世の冷却年代を新たに得た、2)超高圧変成岩体の縁辺部における後退時の変成圧力―温度条件を推定して、中心部の岩体と比較した、3)ルチルのウラン-鉛年代とジルコニウム濃度を測定して、変成温度と上昇年代を推定した。また、インダス-ツァンポ縫合帯オフィオライトとそれに関連した高圧変成岩類の構造発達史に関連して、4)パキスタンMuslim Baghオフィオライトの海洋地殻を構成する角閃岩類が、地温勾配の高い変成作用を被っていたこと、5)北西インドNidarオフィオライトの斑レイ岩類が、著しくデプリートしたマントルから生成したこと、6)Nidarオフィオライト上部の火山堆積岩類の砕屑性ジルコン年代から、オフィオライトの火成活動は白亜紀初期であること、7)Shergole青色片岩岩体を覆う火山堆積岩類の砕屑性ジルコン年代から、その原岩は白亜紀後期であることが明らかになった。

Reason

(超)高圧変成岩体の角閃石のアルゴン-アルゴン年代から有意義な冷却年代が得られた。また、オフィオライトや青色片岩に関連した火山堆積岩類の砕屑性ジルコン年代から、有意義な年代値が得られた。加えて、MuslimBaghオフィオライトの研究実績に関して内容をまとめて、国際誌へ投稿したため。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

(超)高圧変成岩類の変成圧力-温度-流体経路の推定を、相平衡解析を用いて詳細に実施して、後退変成時の空間分布を解明する。また、ザクロ石の酸素同位体比測定により高圧変成作用に関連した流体の実体を探る。上記の研究実績に関連して、論文化および国内外で学会発表を行い、成果をアピールする。
