Outline of Research at the Start

戦後日本のパブリックハウジングは中央政府による全国一律の住宅政策にもとづき実施された。その典型である昭和20-30年代の初期公営住宅の供給では，公営住宅標準設計を規範とし，全国に同質の住宅が大量生産されたと見なされている。一方，地方自治体により実際に建設された初期公営住宅には，中央政府のもとで検討された計画理念・技術の枠組みに収まらない，独自の試みの結果として形づけられた別個の姿がある。
本研究では，具体的な耐火・簡易耐火構造の初期公営住宅を対象に，それらが有する固有性を地方都市の社会環境や自然環境との関係から多角的に検証し，近現代住宅の系譜におけるその歴史的位置づけや意義の再検討を試みる。
