Outline of Research at the Start

マネジメント科学の実践:光マネジメント科学とは,光エネルギーを光機能性材料へ自在に取入れ、閉込め、取出すための界面の設計指針です。メタ表面蛍光体(=メタ表面を乗せた蛍光基板)の高性能化は光マネジメントの実践の場です。これまでに2つの問題点(金属の光吸収による青→黄色への変換効率の低下/光取り出し効率)を明確にするとともに、計算により最適なメタ表面蛍光体のデザインを導き出しつつあります。本研究ではこの2つの問題を解決し、メタ表面蛍光体の限界性能を引き出したいと考えています。最終的には、これまで無かった「非コヒーレント指向性点光源」を創成し、その社会実装を試みます。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

光マネジメント科学とは,光エネルギーを光機能性材料へ自在に取入れ、閉込め、取出すための界面の設計指針です。メタ表面蛍光体(=メタ表面を乗せた蛍光基板)の高性能化は光マネジメントの実践の場です。これまでに2つの問題点(金属の光吸収による青→黄色への変換効率の低下/光取り出し効率)を明確にするとともに、計算により最適なメタ表面蛍光体のデザインを導き出しつつあります。本研究ではこの2つの問題を解決し、メタ表面蛍光体の限界性能を引き出したいと考えています。
2023年度は以下の2項目の研究を行った。
光の100%前方放出の実現:誘電体多層膜6層積層ナノアンテナ蛍光体の全放出光量に対する前方放出割合を評価した。正面方向には最大30倍、50%強の前方放射を実現した。
SiナノアンテナにおけるBICモードのポラリトンレーザ応用:BICからの室温励起子ポラリトン (EP) 凝縮の実験的観測を達成した。有機ペリレン染料の安定した励起子を、シリコンナノ粒子の誘電体メタ表面の非常に長寿命のBICと強く結合させ、低閾値のレーザ発振を実現した。得られた結果を投稿論文にまとめ発表するとともに学会で報告した。
ナノアンテナと蛍光体の臨界結合(Critical coupling)の実現:蛍光体の光吸収を最大化する条件を見つけることにより、蛍光分子への結合効率を最適化した。 さまざまな濃度の蛍光色素を含む屈折率整合層に埋め込まれたナノ粒子アレイの透過特性と蛍光発光を調べ、光と蛍光色素の臨界結合条件を見出した。得られた結果を投稿論文にまとめ発表するとともに学会で報告した。

Reason

当初の研究計画通りの成果が得られていることに加え、TiO2ナノアンテナによるAggregate Induced Emission分子の発光増強、紫外光用ナノアンテナの開発、Siナノアンテナのアップコンバージョン増強など、ナノアンテナ研究の新しい展開をスタートさせることが出来たので、この評価とした。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ナノアンテナシールによる光の100%前方放出の実現:昨年度の研究で、誘電体多層膜6層積層ナノアンテナ蛍光体の全放出光量に対する前方放出割合が100%に届かなかったのは、アンテナの加工面積が小さかったことが原因と考えられる。本年度は昨年度の16倍の面積を持つナノアンテナ加工部分をもつナノアンテナシールを用い、前方放出100%を実現を試みる。
SiナノアンテナにおけるBICモードの円偏光制御: Siナノアンテナの対称性を落とすことでキラリティを誘起すると共に、アンテナと色素発光体を結合させることで円偏光発光の誘起を試みる。
新奇デザインのナノアンテナの開拓:これまでの正方格子や六方格子など対称性の高い構造に加えて、対称性の低い構造を作製し、光学特性の制御を試みる。
