Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、ミクロからマクロへ繋ぐ鍵経路として昆虫翅構造中の超分子キラリティに着目する。解析のための手段として、量子カスケードレーザー光源による顕微スキャン型多次元赤外円二色性分光法（VCD）システムを適用する。世界初となる100 μm空間分解能でアミドI,II領域を含めた広い波長範囲で翅のドメインをスキャンすることにより局所VCDスペクトルを得る。これにより、生体試料そのままの状態（in situ）で翅面におけるタンパク質の高次構造の２次元分布を導く。加齢、性差、左右翅の違い等がこれらの構造に及ぼす影響を明らかにする。
