Outline of Research at the Start

人体と親和性の高いソフトロボットが盛んに研究される中，基材となる力学機能高分子の開発に注目が集まっている。機能向上の鍵となる材料の主要な創製プロセスは，(1)高分子の合成，(2)分子配向制御，(3)形状制御(フィルム化や成形加工)であるが，いずれも高度な技術を要することから独自の分野として研究が進んでおり，相乗的な機能設計には至っていない。本研究では，応募者が最近見出した，空間選択的な光重合過程で分子が配向する現象を詳細に調べ解明することで，(1)高分子合成・(2)分子配向・(3)フィルム化を一気通貫に行い，従来手法ではなし得ない高機能マイクロアクチュエータを創製する。
