Outline of Research at the Start

ネギ類の混植や輪作には、土壌伝染性フザリウム病を抑制する効果がある。研究代表者らは、土壌への拮抗細菌群の集積が同効果の主原因であることを明らかにした。さらに、ネギ類が産生するγ‐グルタミル‐S‐アリルシステイン（GSAC）が拮抗細菌の集積原因であることも突き止めた。本研究では、拮抗細菌（シュードモナス菌）のゲノム比較、GSACの動態解析、GSACおよびGSAC分解産物に対する微生物応答の解析などを行い、GSACによる拮抗細菌集積のメカニズムを解明する。本研究は“土壌微生物叢制御による病害防除”という革新的技術の開発への道を拓く重要な科学的知見を提供するものである。
