Outline of Research at the Start

地球温暖化に伴う海洋環境の変化により水産資源の再生産への影響が懸念されている。本研究ではイカナゴとマコガレイを対象とし、「温度-サイズ則（高水温では成熟サイズが小型化する）」を基盤とした親魚の繁殖投資量（卵サイズ×総産卵数）の水温応答を解明する。餌料環境も親魚の栄養状態を通じて繁殖投資量に影響することから、「餌料環境によって繁殖投資量の水温応答が劇的に変化する」との仮説を立て、近年、水温上昇や餌料環境の悪化が懸念されている瀬戸内海と仙台湾を対象海域として、繁殖投資量の長期的変化の解明、屋内実験を通じて魚種・海域横断的にこの仮説を検証する。
