Outline of Research at the Start

脊椎動物は動物種によって器官再生能力が異なり、一つの動物種でも器官再生できる時期とできない時期がある動物もいる。これらの再生能力の差や変化の要因は不明だが、これが理解できれば器官再生を引き起こすカギとなる条件を見つけられる。これに対し我々は、ゼブラフィッシュの胸ビレ内骨格部分が、幼生期（仔魚）であれば再生すること、成長が進むと再生能力が低下し稚魚や成魚では再生しないこと、を発見した。このような背景のもと、ゼブラフィッシュのモデル動物としての特性を活かして、本研究は「内骨格を再生させる組織内の内的要因を抽出すること、再生能低下をもたらす組織外の外的要因を明らかにすること」を目的とする。
