Outline of Research at the Start

近年のゲノム解析の結果、種特異的なde-novo遺伝子が期待以上に同定され、生物の多様性に大きく貢献している可能性が提唱されている。それにも関わらず、生理活性を変化させる（機能的な）de-novo遺伝子を探索する研究はほとんどない。本研究では、シロイヌナズナには明確な機能を有すものの、近縁種には遺伝子構造が壊れているため同じ機能を持ちえない種特異的なde-novoの短い遺伝子に着目し、近縁種およびシロイヌナズナ集団のゲノム情報から推定される適応力を定量化し、シロイヌナズナが生き残るために大きな役割を果たしているde-novoの遺伝子を探索する方法の確立を目指す。
