胎児・発達期の低栄養は、将来的な糖尿病や高血圧などの発症リスクが高くなることが知られており、DOHaD仮説として知られている。しかしながら、どういった栄養環境が、どのような分子メカニズムでこうした影響を及ぼしているのかは、現在でも不明な点が多い。NAD (ニコチンアミドアデニンジヌクレオチド)は、ナイアシンやトリプトファンから合成される補酵素であり、さまざまなエネルギー代謝経路に関わっている。本研究では、遺伝子改変マウスやメタボロミクスを駆使することで、NAD代謝によるDOHaD仮説のメカニズムを解明し、早期からの介入法開発へとつなげていく。
