Outline of Research at the Start

海洋由来の第三世代バイオマス(微細藻類)から水素と生分解性プラスチックの持続可能な生産は環境創成学を基盤とする資源循環、再生可能エネルギー・バイオマス利活用など多くの分野に関わる課題である。申請者は太陽光を励起源として利用できる新規銀光触媒を開発し、安全で極めて高い微細藻類膜の分解効果を持つことを見出した。また、申請者は太陽光を光源とした間欠光刺激によるバイオ水素発酵において高効率の水素生成と同時に高濃度の乳酸を生成できることを世界で初めて確認した。本研究の目的は太陽光を活用した持続可能な微細藻類の分解及び光水素発酵・乳酸生成システムを開発するための研究基盤を確立することである。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2022年度は、太陽光利用できる新規光触媒材料に優れた接着性のあるシリカゲル固定型光触媒の新規開発を重点に置き、安定・安価・耐久性に優れた材料の開発を行い、新規材料と藻類の相互作用による活性種の同定による光触媒藻類分解のメカニズム解明を進めてきた。また、シリカゲル固定型光触媒材料を用いた分解デバイスの作製し、そのデバイスを用いた微細藻類モデルとしてクロレラの分解試験を行い、藻類分解産物である脂質、タンパク質と炭水化物(糖)の生成・分離条件を検討した。さらに、上記の要素技術を統合した太陽光を活用する高効率シリカゲル固定型光触媒藻類分解・分離システムの最適化を進めてきた。
この一年間の研究成果は国際誌5報登載、国内外学会16回の発表実績を得られた。関連成果は大学の産学連携を通して技術相談を行い、2社との共同研究を検討している。本業績は、当該分野のみならず、関連する環境、エネルギー、健康といった分野で、その発展に大きく寄与している。

Reason

2022年度は、太陽光利用できる新規光触媒材料に優れた接着性のあるシリカゲル固定型光触媒の新規開発を重点に置き、安定・安価・耐久性に優れた材料の開発を行い、新規材料と藻類の相互作用による活性種の同定による光触媒藻類分解のメカニズム解明を進めてきた。また、シリカゲル固定型光触媒材料を用いた分解デバイスの作製し、そのデバイスを用いた微細藻類モデルとしてクロレラの分解試験を行い、藻類分解産物である脂質、タンパク質と炭水化物(糖)の生成・分離条件を検討した。さらに、上記の要素技術を統合した太陽光を活用する高効率シリカゲル固定型光触媒藻類分解・分離システムの最適化を進めてきた。
コロナ禍で制限された状況中、積極的に研究成果を論文にまとめ、またオンライン学会を参加した。この一年間で国際誌5報登載、国内外学会16回の発表実績を得られたことは研究目的を達成したと考えられる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2023年度は、①は前年度確立したシリカゲル固定型光触媒材料を用いた分解デバイスを用いた微細藻類の分解産物を基質とし、太陽光を照射光源とした光水素発酵を行い、その光照射強度、照射時間、発酵槽の水素濃度、水素生成量、pH、有機酸(乳酸)収率、微生物の活性など各項目の検討を行い、藻類分解産物を基質とした光水素発酵における光照射の最適条件を明らかにする。②は光照射強度、波長範囲、照射時間の変化を水素菌に与える影響を検討し、菌叢解析を行い、微生物叢の変化を把握する。③はATPの測定による微生物活性変化、NADHの測定による水素生成経路を検討する。以上①~③までの要素を解析し、光刺激による水素生成菌の活性化と乳酸生成促進のメカニズムを解明する。
