Outline of Research at the Start	近年、腸内環境が全身の様々な疾患に関与していることが報告されている。それらの疾患には生活習慣病やがん、脳神経系の疾患等が含まれ多岐にわたる。腸内環境を改善するとされる様々なプロバイオティクス等が知られているが、それらの治療効果は不明なところが多い。一方で、明確な機能を有した合成材料により、腸内環境を改善し、疾患の治癒を目指した研究例は殆どない。我々は腸内の酸化ストレスに着目し、腸内の酸化ストレスを除去することによる腸内環境の改善と治療が困難とされている疾患への治療効果を解析する。本研究により、腸内の酸化ストレスが全身の疾患に与える影響が初めて明らかになるとともに、新たな治療戦略を提案する。
