Outline of Research at the Start

イスラーム神秘主義の担い手であるスーフィーらは、法学や神学などの既存の学問分野が成立しつつあった９世紀以降に登場した。それゆえ、イスラームの学問体系においては、ときにマイノリティになったり迫害の対象になったりしてきた。その一方で、彼らは預言者からの霊的系譜を主張することで自らの主張を権威づけるとともに、聖者崇敬と結びつくことで民衆からの支持を集めることに成功した。本研究は、スーフィーらを取り巻く状況を「権威」や「権力」という視点から考察することで、イスラーム神秘主義がその学問的・思想的アイデンティティをいかに形成しようとしてきたかを明らかにする。
