Outline of Research at the Start

日本の伝統的な管楽器の多くは、古くから日本人の生活の近くにあった「竹」を主たる原材料としてきた。能楽囃子や歌舞伎・邦楽囃子に用いられる「能管」も例外ではない。
「竹」は一見、確保が容易な原材料と思われるが、実際には管楽器の種類により様々な竹の種類、形状、使用部分、一次加工等の要件があり、実際には入手困難な状況にある。特に今やほとんど手に入らない「煤竹」を適材としてきた能管の原材料への危機感は高い。
そこで、本研究では日本の伝統的な管楽器である「能管」を取り上げ、その原材料確保について、楽器製作技術との関係性を糸口にして要件と方向性を提案したい。
