Outline of Research at the Start

Students from third through sixth grades will be observed longitudinally using tests of phoneme awareness and sound-letter recognition. Tests and activities are designed to use the Chromebook tablets used in Japanese public schools. Web-based tests, activities, and surveys will deliver content and tests to schools with minimal disruption to the teaching curriculum, and allow maximum flexibility for classroom implementation.
