Outline of Research at the Start

日本の水中考古学の出発点となった琵琶湖の葛籠尾崎湖底遺跡は、縄文時代以降の各時代の土器が数多く漁網で引き揚げられてきたが、水深が深いために湖底の状況が把握できず、土器水没の理由も解明されていない。本研究は、自律型水中ロボット（AUV）による悉皆調査と遠隔操作型水中ロボット（ROV）や水中ドローンによる近接調査を併用して湖底の土器水没地点を広域的に把握し、土器水没状況画像地図を作成し、ロボット調査による水中遺跡調査モデルを作成する。あわせて、地質学的調査や回収された土器の調査、漁師への聞き取り調査や土器付着鉄分の成分分析など、可能な方法を駆使して、遺跡成因を解明する。
