Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、国内最大の平野である関東平野の発達史復元と成因解明である。そのため関東平野西部の地下地質に対して、過去300万年間に及ぶ高精度な火山灰編年と微化石層序を確立する。その成果と表層地質・段丘地形のデータを組合せて詳細な発達史を構築し、海域であった前弧海盆時代から、陸化した現在の関東平野の成立までの地形発達過程を明らかにする。前弧海盆が陸化し平野が形成されるモデルとして提案する。
