Outline of Research at the Start

We develop a general research framework to study the social security reforms in developed countries and the scheme to induce participation in voluntary public pension programs in developing countries. We, first, document related empirical observations from household survey data. This empirical documentation also helps up to understand how difference in institutions and labor market structure across countries would affect our proposed social security reforms in developed and developing countries. Then, we develop a life-cycle model to examine the quantitative effects of our proposed reforms.
