Outline of Research at the Start

低栄養は種々の疾患の憎悪因子であり低栄養対策は喫緊の課題である。低栄養予防の基本は食事であるが、脂質栄養の必要性は明確にされていない。本申請では、食事からの摂取が必要な高度不飽和脂肪酸の欠乏が低栄養に関連する疾患をより悪化させるかを明らかにし、その要因について検討を行う。また、臨床研究として高齢者施設に入居する者の高度不飽和脂肪酸欠乏の実態を明らかにし、GLIM criteriaを用いて低栄養の診断を行う。本研究は、低栄養が関わる疾患における高度不飽和脂肪酸の必要性と高齢者における欠乏の実態を明確にすることで、 栄養不良における脂質栄養の重要性を提示する。
