Outline of Research at the Start

「ストレスホルモン」として知られているコルチゾールは従来、血液や唾液の試料から測定されることが多いが、これらの試料のコルチゾールは、日内変動や急性ストレスなどによるばらつきが大きく、慢性的なストレスの評価指標として用いるには必ずしも適していない。そこで本研究では爪の組織内に含まれるコルチゾールに注目する。爪の組織内には過去数週間の間に分泌されたホルモンが蓄積されていると考えられている。本研究では爪コルチゾールのストレス指標としての有用性を検証するために、爪コルチゾールとメンタルヘルス不調の関連性を5,000名の労働者を対象に調査する。
