Outline of Research at the Start

地球物理学的観測から、下部マントルの粘性率構造は深さ方向に一様ではないことが知られている。この主な要因は、下部マントルが硬いブリッジマナイトと柔らかいフェロペリクレース(Fp)により構成され、その微細組織の違いに起因すると考えられているが、それらを定量的に明らかにした研究は報告されていない。さらには第三相であるCaSiO3-ペロブスカイトがFpよりも柔らかい可能性が報告された。そこで、本研究では、各下部マントル鉱物の相対粘性率を明らかにした上で、高温高圧変形実験により多相系としての下部マントル鉱物の粘性率を決定することで、下部マントルの三次元粘性率構造を推定することを目指すものである。
