Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、pn接合型太陽電池の理論限界であるショックレー・クワイサー限界を超える変換効率が報告されている、強誘電体におけるバルク光起電力効果（BPVE）に基づくホットキャリア型太陽電池の発電機構を解明するものである。加えてグラフェン、カーボンナノチューブ,WTe2を用いた低次元物質/強誘電体接合により、さらなる変換効率の向上を目指す。
BPVEに基づくホットキャリア型太陽電池は強誘電体層が極薄膜であるために光吸収が小さいという根本的な問題があるが、低次元物質特有の物性に着目し、強誘電体層に加え低次元物質層も光吸収層とする構造を提案しその有効性を検証する。
