Outline of Research at the Start

海岸侵食は我が国のみならず世界的に深刻な問題になっているが、その抜本的な対策工法は未だ確立されていない。その大きな原因として侵食の機構、特に沿岸漂砂の発生機構が解明されていないことが挙げられる。水理模型実験はその解明の主要な手法であるが、平面水槽では、水槽側壁が波動場と沿岸漂砂に及ぼす影響が除去できず、沿岸漂砂の機構解明の大きな支障になっている。本件研究はその支障を取り除く円形水槽（円状の海浜模型のため端部がない）を用いた実験により沿岸漂砂の機構解明を行うとともに数値解析によりその発生機構を明らかにするものである。あわせてこれまで未解明であるビーチカスプの生成機構の解明も行うものである。
