Outline of Research at the Start

現在の耐震設計思想は、稀に発生する中地震に対して損傷させず、極稀に発生する大地震に対して倒壊させないという、二段構えとなっている。しかし、倒壊防止によって人命保護ができても、建築物の継続使用性が保持されず取り壊すこととなれば、所有者は財産を失うこととなり、影響は甚大である。そこで本研究では、木造住宅を対象に、損傷／倒壊の中間にある”継続使用性が維持される限界点”に対応する設計指標を提案し、地震後も継続使用可能な高い耐震性能をもつ住宅を志向できる環境を整備する。また、一度被災した住宅の継続使用可否を現場で判定する事後対応技術として、構造ヘルスモニタリングの評価手法の開発も行う。
