Outline of Research at the Start

温室効果ガス削減に極めて大きな貢献が期待されるダイヤモンドを用いた究極の省エネルギーパワー半導体デバイスの実現には、高品質かつ大型のダイヤモンド基板の実現が必要である。ダイヤモンド成長用下地MgO基板の完璧表面創成と極薄化加工を行いつつ、成長中リアルタイム応力制御を取り入れ、結晶欠陥発生とその伝搬を抑制/制御してダイヤモンドの高品質化を目指す。最終段階では、これまでに開発済みの大口径結晶成長技術と組み合わせ、実用性(サイズと品質)を兼ね備えるダイヤモンド基板製造技術の完成を目指す。
