Outline of Research at the Start

有機結晶材料の固体物性変化は、結晶中における分子の構造変化に起因する。通常、この構造変化は、単結晶X線構造解析によって正確に捉えることができ、なぜそのような固体物性変化が起きるのか？という問いに対して明確な解を与えてきた。しかし、この手法は構造変化の前後を“静的”に捉えたものであり、“動的”な固体物性変化ダイナミクスを捉えることはできない。そこで本研究では、フォトメカニカル結晶を研究対象とし、顕微分光によってその光反応を動的に捉えると同時に、光照射による結晶サイズ変化を同時に測定することで結晶中の光反応速度論に基づいた動的なフォトメカニカル応答の理解を目的とする。
