Outline of Research at the Start

芳香環の部品を組み合わせて分子の構造や空間を自在に設計し，新しい化学物質を創製する芳香環ナノアーキテクトの発想に基づいた化学を新展開するために，芳香族ユニットを集合，縮合，修飾することにより，構造や空間が最適化された大環状分子，らせん形分子，密集パイ共役系分子を設計する．これらの標的化合物を合成し，構造や電子状態を解明し，特異な性質や機能を創出する．大環状分子では構造のパイ系拡張・多様化および最適空間を利用したゲストの包接を，らせん分子ではヘリセン構造の拡張と高キラル光学活性物質の設計を，密集分子では異常接近原子をもつグラフェン類似構造について研究する．
