Outline of Research at the Start	オルト/パラ水素に代表される核スピン異性体は、化学構造が全く等しいにも関わらず、異性体と呼ばれる関係にある。その理由は熱平衡状態において２つのスピン状態が共存可能で、かつ性質が大きく異なる(区別できる)ためであろう。しかし、核スピン異性体は交換対称性の違いに由来して比熱などの物理的性質が異なる一方で、電子に由来する性質は変化しない。では電子スピンに由来してスピン異性体が作られるとき、どのような現象や機能が見いだせるだろうか。本研究ではそのような疑問に答えることを目指して電子スピン異性体を体系的に創製し、構造や物性の体系的な調査という基礎研究から「スピン-物性相関」に基づく機能開拓までを行う。
