Outline of Research at the Start

溶液中における高分子の振る舞いは、セグメントと呼ばれる構成単位の単純なつながりとして整理されてきたため、高分子の長鎖分岐や環状構造などのアーキテクチャーの違いがセグメントの性質に及ぼす影響は無視されてきた。最近我々は、剛直な環状高分子のセグメント間やセグメント―低分子の相互作用が線状鎖と大きく異なることを見出した。さらに分岐高分子についても、溶媒分子との相互作用の違いに起因すると推定される特異な温度応答挙動の発現を複数確認している。本研究では、これら非線状高分子に特徴的なセグメントの性質、セグメント間相互作用、そしてセグメント―低分子の相互作用について研究を進める。
