Outline of Research at the Start

持続可能な低炭素社会実現のために、超軽量で高強度の材料実現が渇望されている。当該研究者は、炭素のような軽元素でも緻密に三次元高分子網目を組み上げることができれば、これまでの材料作製技術では到達できなかった超軽量高強度材料が実現できる可能性に着目した。本研究では、多官能性モノマーを結晶化により三次元的に固定し、網目構造を精密制御しながら繋ぎ合わせ、三次元的に明確な繰り返し構造を有する高分子網目「精密三次元高分子網目」の合成法を確立し、材料の網目構造と力学特性の関係を調査する。
