Outline of Research at the Start	嫌気性アンモニウム酸化(anammox)反応は亜硝酸(NO2-)とアンモニウムから窒素ガスを生成する微生物反応であり、地球上で生成する窒素ガスの6割がanammox反応を経由している。一方、anammox反応で窒素ガスが生成する反応メカニズムは未解明であり、特に第一番目の反応であるNO2 -還元反応がどのように進むのか明らかでない。本研究ではanammox反応のNO2-還元反応を触媒する酵素(タンパク質)を分離・精製し、本酵素の特徴(機能・構造)を明らかにする。また、本酵素を大腸菌などに大量発現させ、バイオ産業で利用するための基盤研究を行う。
