Outline of Research at the Start

ピペリンは抗菌作用、消化促進作用などを示す化合物であり、胡椒に含まれる辛味成分としてよく知られている。しかし、全生物を通じてピペリンの分解代謝の全貌は解明されていない。本研究は、我々がこれまで単離したピペリンを資化する土壌微生物のもつピペリン分解経路を代謝中間化合物・酵素・遺伝子レベルで解明することを目的としている。さらに、本微生物のピペリン分解経路とは異なる新規分解経路をもつ微生物を単離し、微生物のもつ多様な分解代謝経路の解明も目的とする。
