Outline of Research at the Start

幼若ホルモン(JH)およびメチルファルネソエート(MF)は、長い間昆虫および甲殻類に特有のホルモンと考えられてきた。しかし、近年、JH/MFは想定より遥かに古い起源を持ち、動物界に広く存在するホルモンである可能性が示唆されている。本研究では、動物群横断的に、生体のJH/MF分析、JHAMTホモログの酵素学的機能解析、イメージングMSによるJH/MF合成器官の同定を行い、動物界におけるJH/MFの普遍性と特殊性を明らかにし、昆虫JHの起源に迫ろうとする。
