Outline of Research at the Start

リグニンは，モノリグノールが酵素的ラジカルカップリングを繰り返すことによって重合が進行し，高分子化することが分かっている。しかしながら，モノリグノールが二量体になった後，どのように高分子化していくかについては，未だ未解明のままである。本研究では，これまで謎とされてきた以下の２点について解明する。
１　巨大分子同士の酵素とリグニンが活性部位でピンポイントに出会い，リグニンをラジカル化させることができるのか？
２　高分子化したリグニンにモノリグノールが，どのような様式・割合で結合するのか？
本課題では，「選択的安定同位体標識法」などの方法を駆使して，リグニンの高分子化メカニズムの完全解明に挑む。
