Outline of Research at the Start

ウナギ目レプトケファルス幼生はマリンスノーを餌として利用している。しかし、その構成物のうち何を餌として利用しているのか分かっていない。本研究では、「レプトケファルス幼生はカイアシ類を主とした動物プランクトンの糞のみを選択的に摂餌し、糞への嗜好性はサイズ依存的である」を検証する。そのために以下の3課題に取り組む。
課題１　優占種3種（ハモ、ギンアナゴ、アサバホラアナゴ）の消化管内容物の同定
課題２　優占種3種の栄養源の特定
課題３　カイアシ類の糞の栄養価の評価
