Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では「二枚貝の性分化機構」に的を絞り、主要海産二枚貝類を横断的に解析することで、性分化のコアとなる遺伝子群を明らかにし、二枚貝の性分化制御因子とその作用機構を解明することに挑戦する。本研究の特徴は、申請者らが近年開発した「二枚貝感染性ウイルス由来の新規ウイルスプロモーターによる強制発現系」により、性分化関連遺伝子を強制発現させその下流の発現変動を調べることや、抽出した性分化制御遺伝子を強制発現させ表現型解析できる点にある。以上、本研究では二枚貝の性分化制御因子とその作用機構を明らかにすることで、二枚貝の水産増養殖における性統御技術の開発に資する基礎生理学的な情報基盤の集積をおこなう。
