Outline of Research at the Start

フィロウイルスに含まれるエボラおよびマールブルグウイルスは、ヒトに致死的な出血熱を引き起こす。その発生頻度は近年増加傾向にあり、原因ウイルス種も予測不能である。それゆえ、フィロウイルスに広く対応可能な治療薬開発が望まれている。一方、感染性フィロウイルスはBSL-4施設を備えた限られた機関でしか扱えず、治療薬探索には工夫が必要である。そこで本研究では、これまで申請者らが開発した計算手法を機械学習を用いて高度化し、配列と構造情報から、フィロウイルス種に共通する創薬標的部位を同定する技術を確立する。また、標的部位に対する阻害剤を設計・探索し、フィロウイルス種に広く効果を示す化合物を見つけ出す。
