Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、マウスおよびラットに次いて、小型げっ歯類実験動物として優れた特性を有するゴールデンハムスターのゲノム編集技術（ノックアウトおよびノックイン）を開発し、その実験動物としての有用性を高めるとともに、新たな遺伝子機能の解明、および実験モデルを開発する。本研究の成果は、マウス・ラットでは進めることが困難であった医学生物学研究の推進を加速すると期待される。
