Outline of Research at the Start

動物の幼少期の栄養環境は個体に生涯にわたる影響をもたらす。例えば、胎児期に飢餓や栄養過多を経験したヒトは成人となった後に肥満や糖尿病などの成人病になりやすいことはよく知られている。このような現象は栄養プログラム（nutritional programing）という概念の下で研究されており、幼少期の栄養環境を反映した個体の適応現象の一つと考えられる。本研究は、発生学的、ゲノム科学的解析に優れた利点を有するモデル生物、メダカを用いて、エネルギー貯蔵・供給・摂食制御等を担う代謝器官である脂肪組織を対象として、栄養プログラムの環境（成長初期の特に高脂肪食刺激）適応の実態を明らかにする。
