Outline of Research at the Start

研究代表者らは繊毛虫のミドリゾウリムシとその細胞内に共生している緑藻類のクロレラを用いて、細胞内共生の成立過程を経時的に追跡でき る実験系を確立し、共生の成立に必須な次の4種のチェックポイントの存在を発見した。1: クロレラが宿主食胞内でリソソーム消化酵素耐性 を示す。2: クロレラが食胞膜から細胞質中に脱出する。3: クロレラを包む食胞膜が、宿主リソソーム融合を阻止するPV膜に分化する。4: PV 膜に包まれたクロレラが、宿主細胞表層直下へ定着して細胞内共生を成立させる。本研究では、4種のチェックポイントの調節機構を解明する ことで、細胞内共生の成立機構を解明することを目的としている。
