Outline of Research at the Start

豚を自然宿主とするHelicobacter suisなどの動物由来ヘリコバクター属菌は人獣共通感染症の原因菌であり，ヒト胃にも感染しHelicobacter pylori（ピロリ菌）と同様な胃疾患を発症する．本研究では動物由来ヘリコバクター属菌感染症における①病態発症に寄与する菌側因子の解明，②ピロリ菌感染との宿主応答の比較，③選択的除菌治療法の開発の3つを目的とする．動物由来ヘリコバクター属感染による胃疾患発症リスクを解明するための重要な知見となるだけでなく，ヒトと動物の双方で問題となるヘリコバクター属菌感染の選択的治療法を提案できる．
