Outline of Research at the Start

ペリサイトは、栄養する臓器に合わせてその形質を適切に変容させることで、臓器機能の調節に関与する、動的な細胞であることが分かってきました。本研究では、ペリサイトが特に重要な役割を担う中枢に着目し、ペリサイトの脳組織環境感知機構と、脳特異的形質の獲得機構を分子レベルで明らかにすることを目的とします。得られた知見をもとにしてペリサイト脳特異的形質消失個体の表現型を解析することにより、ペリサイトの中枢特異的形質獲得の生理的意義と、認知症を始めとした中枢疾患発症との関連を明らかにすることを目指します。
