Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では脊椎動物の体軸骨格形成をモデルとして、脊椎骨や肋骨に奇形が生じるしくみを外部環境のゆらぎや生体内の素過程のゆらぎなどの撹乱要因に注目して明らかにする。発生過程では遺伝子発現が厳密な時空間的制御を受け、適切なパターンを形成することにより正確に形態が形成される。胚体内外の撹乱要因は遺伝子発現を乱し、その結果として奇形が生じると予想される。撹乱要因が奇形を引き起こす作用点を明らかにし、胚がそれを防ぐしくみを解明する。
