Outline of Research at the Start

関節リウマチや変形性関節症などの関節疾患では、関節における滑膜と呼ばれる炎症の主体となる組織が存在する。この滑膜からは炎症性サイトカインが放出されて関節破壊や変形が進行する。関節リウマチの治療は生物学的製剤の開発により疾患活動性が大きく抑えられるようになった。しかしながら治療に効果を示さない場合や初期には効果があってもその後効果が減弱するケースも存在する。変形性関節症に至っては有効な薬物治療がなく変形が進めば手術治療法しかない。本研究では関節炎や関節症などの運動器疾患毎に関節構成体などの組織を用いて一細胞解析を行って、疾患毎の病型や違いを検証し、運動器疾患の新たな治療戦略を確立する。
