Outline of Research at the Start

近年の研究からヒトパピローマウイルス（HPV）関連中咽頭癌は分子サブタイプで層別化されることが示されているが、発癌メカニズムは不明な点が多い。また子宮頸部でわかっているHPVの生活環についても中咽頭では解明されていない。
本研究では、エピゲノム異常に関連する転写制御異常に着目した発癌分子機構の解明・免疫治療抵抗性のメカニズム解明・治療法の開発、ならびに、電子顕微鏡技術を応用し口蓋扁桃での異形成病変の探索・HPV感染を高感度に検知できる検査法の開発に取り組む。これにより、口蓋扁桃でのHPVの生活環を可視化し、HPV関連中咽頭癌の個別化治療の構築を目指す。
