Outline of Research at the Start

脂肪肝と共に近年増加傾向にある脂肪性肝炎(non-alcoholic steatohepatitis; NASH) は、その一部が肝硬変に進行し肝臓癌を発症し、有効な治療法と診断法の確立が喫緊の課題である。近年、肝臓内構成細胞の細胞間相互作用のみならず、肝臓外臓器、特に腸内細菌を介した臓器間相互作用が肝線維化、発癌の病態に関与することが明らかになってきた。本研究において、体内侵入菌による腸管外へのtranslocation、局所の免疫誘導がNASH病態に直接寄与する、という仮説のもと、臓器間ネットワークを介したNASH肝線維化進展、修復、発癌機序を明らかにし、臨床への応用性を検証する。
